Adventures In Odyssey and The Great Escape

The third in a series of computer games (for Mac or Windows) based on the Focus On The Family audio series, this CD contains seven cleverly designed, arcade-like activities embedded with themes such as responsibility, respect for others, the value of time, and the consequences of poor choices. There two modes of play: Story Mode and Arcade Mode. Unfortunately, the Arcade Mode can't be played until the Story Mode is complete, which turns large parts of this game into a frustrating experience. In one of the games, Firewall Defender, your task is to fight off the viruses. We made it to level four before giving up due to a tired hand and the lack of any mentioned goal. Also, you can't skip through the narration at the beginning of the game or escape from a game during play. Ironically, you can't escape from the Great Escape. You can save a game being played, however. The animations and graphics are lifelike and captivating. If you have the time and a great deal of patience, you might find some value to this game, but for $30, we'd hope for a better design.
